From today – 26 April – fully vaccinated travelers will no longer need to undergo any Covid-19 testing to enter Singapore.

A month ago we reported that Singapore had reopened to tourists from all countries with ‘easy’ entry requirements – with fully vaccinated visitors able to enter the country by adhering to the following entry requirements:

  • presenting proof of their full vaccination against Covid-19
  • undertaking a Covid-19 PCR or Rapid-Antigen test 48 hours before departure
  • purchasing Covid-19 travel insurance – which includes a minimum coverage of $30,000 Singaporean dollars for any Covid-19 medical expenses
  • completing an online healthcare declaration form prior to departure
  • downloading Singapore’s TraceTogether app – or alternatively, obtain a TraceTogether token.

Fully Vaccinated Travelers No Longer Need To Undergo Covid-19 Testing

However, starting from today (26 April) – international visitors who are planning to enter Singapore will no longer have to undertake a pre-departure PCR or Rapid-Antigen Covid-19 test before they travel to the country.

And, with on-arrival testing having already been removed, as well as the requirement for fully vaccinated travelers to undergo any sort of quarantine, since 1 April – travelers that have received their ‘full’ vaccination against Covid-19 can now visit Singapore without the need to undergo ANY Covid testing whatsoever.

So, fully vaccinated travelers can now enter Singapore ‘test-free’.

What Entry Requirements Remain For Fully Vaccinated Visitors?

With the removal of the requirement to show proof of a negative PCR or Rapid-Antigen test upon arrival into Singapore – the entry requirements for fully vaccinated international travelers arriving into the country have now been simplified.

Passengers that have received their full vaccination against Covid-19 are now only required to:

Road sign indicating the direction of Singapore airport and a plane that just got up.
  • show proof of their vaccination status – which travelers can verify online prior to traveling
  • complete an online SG Arrival Card prior to departure
  • download the TraceTogether application
  • purchase travel insurance which covers any Covid-19 medical expenses.

This means that travelers – who have received their full vaccination against Covid-19 – can now complete all of their entry requirements online, with no need to travel to a Covid-19 test center before their visit to Singapore.

There is also no longer a requirement for fully vaccinated visitors to purchase travel insurance – which covers any medical expenses relating to Covid-19.

How Do You Qualify As Being ‘Fully Vaccinated’?

To be classified as ‘fully vaccinated’ by the Singaporean authorities, an individual is required to have had two doses of a vaccine that is listed on the World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing (EUL)

However, visitors must have received their second dose at least 14 days prior to traveling to Singapore to be considered as ‘fully vaccinated’.

Can Unvaccinated Visitors Currently Enter Singapore?

At the moment, unvaccinated travelers are unable to visit Singapore for tourism purposes.

The only individuals who can enter the country without being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 are:

Changi Airport in Singapore.
  • Singaporean nationals and residents
  • Children under the age of 13 – if accompanied by an adult that has received their full vaccination.

Singapore Removes Some Of Its Internal Restrictions

Along with the removal of the requirement for vaccinated travelers to undertake a pre-departure Covid-19 test before their arrival into the country, Singapore has also relaxed some of its internal Covid-related restrictions.

  • the removal of all social-distancing measures
  • the resumption of cross-border buses and taxis to – and from – Malaysia, from 1 May
  • the removal of capacity limits at large events (which have more than 1,000 people in attendance).

Masks Are Still Required Indoors

Although masks are no longer mandatory when outside, individuals are still required to wear a face mask when indoors – which includes when traveling on any form of public transport.

SG is a nanny state, so their rules all along haven't been surprising.
