Another Marriott All-inclusive resort will open in the Dominican Republic. Only a few weeks ago, Marriott Bonvoy announced the first luxury all-inclusive resort for Marriott International, the Sanctuary Cap Cana, which recently debuted with new services and remodeling. And now, the company will open the first W Hotel in this country in Punta Cana.
According to the information shared by Online Plus, a new agreement has been recently signed between Marriott International, Grupo Puntacana, and Mac Hotels to build the new property that will open its doors in 2024.
“Today's signing with Grupo Puntacana and Marriott International gives us much-desired visibility in our company, and we thank both groups for the trust they have placed in us. We are excited to provide an unparalleled guest experience,” said Begoña Amengual, CEO of MAC Hotels.
Laurent de Kousemaeker, director of development for the Caribbean and Latin America at Marriott International, assured that Punta Cana is the perfect destination for a W Hotel and expects to build the new resort and make a reality the vision that all parties currently have.
This new luxury resort will expand the list of new all-inclusive resorts coming to the Dominican Republic and will add a special touch since the brand has unique concepts and experiences that young travelers love.

About The New W Hotel
Very few details of the new project were provided. So far, this is the only certain information about the new W Hotel & Resort in Punta Cana:
- It will have 349 rooms.
- It will be an all-inclusive and adult-only property.
- It will be located in Uvero Alto, north of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
- It will have a beachfront.
- It will open in 2024.
With the new official agreement signed, the parties will start operations to deliver updates and results as soon as possible. The new property will probably go along with the W Hotel concept, which addresses a younger audience and promotes an American upscale lifestyle.
The W Hotel Brand combines lifestyle, fashion, and travel into a cool boutique hotel style. There are different W Hotels across the world, in fascinating destinations like Bali, Ibiza, Barcelona, Hollywood, Seattle, Costa Rica, Dubai, and Singapore. Each one with a special style and unique rooms.
An emerging artist can book a special sound suite in W Barcelona and get a music studio and a writer’s room to create and boost their creativity while traveling. Another guest could perhaps stay at W Punta de Mita in Mexico and be amazed by the impressive and colorful decoration that embraces local indigenous culture and modern life, showcasing sculptures and artwork.
This brand is also known for its mantra “Detox.Retox.Repeat,” and travelers can expect workout activities and sportive events, healthy food, and relaxing experiences at the properties.
The concept is getting popular and keeps expanding. This year, Marriott also announced two new W Hotels in Italy, in Milan and Naples, that will debut in 2024 as well.
Marriott’s Expansion In The Caribbean
Marriott keeps expanding its presence not only in the Dominican Republic but in the Caribbean. This year, the hotel chain also announced a new all-inclusive resort with a water park in Cancun, the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun, that will open its doors on December 20 this year.
The Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun will have 1,049 suites, its own water park, bowling space, trampoline park, laser tag arena, pools, and a spa. And, of course, the beautiful location with the beach and the delicious restaurants and great bars. The new resort in Cancun will offer the ultimate family vacation.
The two most recent resorts Marriott is opening in Punta Cana are adult-only properties, but the hotel chain has more properties and experiences for everyone. There are more Marriott hotels in Punta Cana and other popular destinations like Santo Domingo and over 20 resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean to choose from.
