The state of Colima is one of the smallest in the entire Mexican territory and one of the best tourist destinations. Located in the country's western region, it has some of the most beautiful natural attractions in Mexico.

Manzanillo

Manzanillo is a very picturesque and charming coastal city, which will win you over for its tranquility. You can visit the boardwalk and visit one of the most emblematic monuments of the city, the figure of the Sailfish. You can also go to Playa Miramar or visit the Museum of Shells and Snails.

You can't miss the area's traditional cuisine, such as Colima ceviche, grilled Sailfish, breaded shrimp, or prawns with garlic. The wonderful Bay of Manzanillo is full of dream beaches: Ventana, Las Coloradas, El Viejo, San Pedrito, Las Brisas, Playa Azul, Salagua, Las Hadas and La Escondida. You can swim on all these beaches, and have fun in the sun.

Colima Volcano

The most striking thing about this volcano is that it's the only one in the country that is still active, in addition to being historically the most active in Mexico. Also called the Fire Volcano, and is 13000 feet high. The best season to visit is between November and March. There are camping areas nearby where you can go walking, and it is a perfect spot for nature photography. If you want to climb the volcano, the first approach is made in the town of Atentique and from there to the site known as El Playón. These routes to the volcano offer various options to enjoy as a day trip. Chose from plenty of restaurants on the side of the road, cabins for rent, and shops to acquire different artisanal and local products.

Nativity Island

Isla Navidad is a dream paradise located between the limits of Colima and Jalisco, surrounded by coves and the lagoon. Its reefs, cliffs, and fine sand are enough reasons to visit Nativity Island. Take a walk through coconut plantations, fruit fields, and orchards. You cannot miss this tour where you'll have the opportunity to learn how to prepare traditional drinks such as punch prepared with mezcal and fruits.

Go to López Legazpi Avenue and visit all the artisan shops with beautiful works of art, both in wood and embroidery. You can also practice extreme water sports on Nativity Island, jet skis, surfing, water skiing, or kayak. Explore sea diving or go sailfish fishing. La Campana Archaeological Zone

This site has been on the list of Mexican archaeological heritage sites since 1917. It is located in the areas surrounding the City of Colima, bordering the states of Jalisco and Michoacán. It was home to the Teotihuacan culture during pre-Hispanic times, an important cultural settlement, with tombs, ceramic offerings, buildings that would be ritual centers, places of power, and religious settlements. It has an urban distribution, where the administrative-ceremonial interior stands out. Some of the most impressive water management structures in Mexican history are located on this site. You can visit the area and take the tour from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Magical Town of Comala

The ancient town of Comala is also known as the White Town of America, for its houses with simple white facades and red tiles on the roof.  The Magical Town of Comala awaits you to discover the magic of its cobbled streets, its incredible sculptures, and the magic of its traditions and attractions. The famous writer Juan Rulfo located the plot of one of his most famous books, Pedro Páramo, in this charming town. While you walk through its alleys, you can visit some monuments, such as its Parish of San Miguel Arcángel or the former hacienda of Nogueras.
