Acapulco attracts tourists with its sandy beaches and vivid nightlife and is considered one of Mexico's top tourist destinations. You will find many pleasures in this majestic bay, from water sports, nightlife to fine dining.
Barra Vieja Beach
Located about 20 minutes from the Airport, Barra Vieja Beach is a beautiful place where you can fully enjoy the beaches, enjoy the delicius cuisine, take long walks, or horseback riding. Bonfil and Revolcadero are the best-known beaches, where you can spend a delicious stay alone, as a couple, or with the family. Local and tourist visitors rave about all the great places to eat and the clean and peaceful area of the beach. The locals' specialty is the famous fish A la Talla, which is cooked on the fire, covered with a secret sauce of various chilies. Other activities include riding the waves on a boogie board, renting ATVs, horseback riding, or renting a boat to navigate the Tres Palos lagoon.
La Quebrada Cliff
The remarkable spectacular La Quebrada Cliff Divers is Acapulco's best-known tradition. It all began back in the 1930s with local fishermen, and it has continued with a new generation of honored professionals that have perfected this art and have gained international acclaim. In 1934 two fishermen challenged each other to jump off the cliff, and ever since, it is a tradition that passes only through generations of these families. Featured in Elvis Presley's 1963 movie “Fun in Acapulco,” they received global attention. See for yourself how these divers climb 135 feet of up steep rocks wearing only a speedo swimsuit. Once up there, they will pray to the Virgin of Guadalupe before diving off the cliff. Approximately 60 men and women from ages ranging between 15 and 70 continue with this tradition. A visit to Acapulco is not complete without watching these astonishing cliff divers.
Snorkeling in La Roqueta Island
La Roqueta Island is considered one of the most beautiful places in Acapulco. This island, located in front of the Caleta and Caletilla beaches and a Protected Natural Area, has rich vegetation and houses many animal species. You can explore and enjoy nature while practicing aquatic activities. The only way to get there is by yacht or boat, which take you directly and if you hire a tour, they will provide interesting facts about the place. The most popular activity is snorkeling, where you will be able to admire the most colorful array of fish. Other activities include hiking with a guided tour and visiting the lighthouse that offers the most impressive ocean view.
Golfing and Padel Board
Acapulco is a vibrant and exciting destination for local and international golfers. With four world-class eighteen-hole courses and a star nine golf course, there is something for everyone. The first golf course built in 1949 was Club de Golf de Acapulco, and it continues to be a rewarding site. Tres Vidas Golf Course and Turtle Dunes Country Club are courses up to championship standards. Princess Mundo Imperial Golf Course and Vidanta Golf Acapulco are the most impressive courses. Another sport that originated from Acapulco is Padel-Tenis, also known as Padel or Paddle, and is a variation from Platform Tennis. Enrique Corcuera invented Padel Tennis in 1969 when he adapted a squash court at his Acapulco home. Its popularity grew internationally when the sport was taken to Marbella, Spain, in 1974. Throughout the years, it has been modified to become more competitive. Padel is constantly growing and evolving worldwide and is considered the fastest growing sport in the world. The World Padel Tour is held each year in Acapulco.

Is Acapulco dangerous to visit for foreign tourists?Crime rates are high, is there any “ no-go” areas?

@P Ray, Acapulco is perfectly safe for tourists. Yes, there are "no-go" areas, like any large city. But these places don't have any lure for tourists anyway. If you are very concerned about safety, there are several AI options that will allow you to take advantage of the excellent weather and beaches without leaving the resort if you are uncomfortable. Though the large majority of tourists who visit prefer to explore the Costera and see the sights outside of their hotel

Why would we be 'afraid' to mention that? This post is about Acapulco and what it offers, not entry requirements ;)
