Fewer destinations in the Caribbean offer that much sought after, laid back island quite like Trinidad and Tobago. However, whilst the islands themselves may be laid back, finding out what you need to be able to visit is far from it. Here are all the latest 2022 COVID-19 entry requirements for Trinidad and Tobago all travelers need to know before booking their trip.
Entry Requirements For Countries Permitted to Visit Trinidad and Tobago For Tourism
COVID-19 Testing Entry Requirements
Travelers to Trinidad and Tobago need to provide a negative PCR test result taken within three days of arrival in order to be able to visit the islands. It must be a NASOPHARYNGEAL (nasal swab) RT-PCR test.
Quarantine Entry Requirements
For non-nationals of Trinidad and Tobago, there is no quarantine requirement, unless they have visited Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe in the 14 days before travel to Trinidad and Tobago. If this is the case, they will need to quarantine for 14 days at their own expense.
Travelers will be required to provide details about health issues or concerns when applying for the TTravel Pass, the document that is required to enter Trinidad and Tobago at present. Travelers will be asked to provide health information regarding Covid-19 and other infectious diseases, along with proof of vaccination and a negative test result.
COVID-19 Travel Insurance Entry Requirements
There are no specific travel insurance requirements needed to enter. However, travelers should ensure they purchase travel insurance before any trip abroad to ensure they are protected should the worst happen.
COVID-19 Health Requirements While in Trinidad and Tobago
Trinidad and Tobago is asking people to wear face masks when out in public and to keep a 6ft distance where possible. It also asks those who feel they have been exposed to the virus to self-isolate.
COVID-19 Vaccine Entry Requirements
At present, it is only possible for fully vaccinated international travelers to enter Trinidad and Tobago. Individuals are only considered to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 if 14 days have passed since they received the full dosage of a World Health Organisation approved vaccine. The country is also strict about mixing vaccines; travelers must have received 2 doses of the same vaccine or the first dose of the AstraZeneca/Covishield vaccine followed by the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, with other combinations not accepted.
Visa Entry Requirements For Trinidad and Tobago During COVID-19
Regular visa requirements are in operation, with many countries – including the US, Canada and member states of the European Union – granted visa free access. Travelers should check their visa requirements prior to entry.
Can Americans Enter Trinidad and Tobago?
Yes, Americans can enter Trinidad and Tobago visa free, but they will need to ensure they have the TTravel Pass to enter.
Trinidad and Tobago Covid-19 Entry Requirements
All travelers need the TTravel to enter. Travelers must:
- Create an account on the TTravel Pass website
- Fill in your personal information requested: Name, DOB, Passport number, location, etc
- Answer the travel and health questions
- Upload documents such as proof of vaccination and negative PCR test
- Provide your consent to a series of declarations
- Keep a printed or electronic copy of the TTravel Pass AND their negative PCR results with their ticket and passport to check-in and board the flight
Travellers will be unable to board the flight without their TTravel Pass and negative test result – though it does not guarantee entry.
