As of June 1st the Seychelles have reopened to tourists from 19 countries, with another 17 countries being considered.
The Seychelles officially announced the first two cases of Covid-19 on March 14, 2020 and reached its peak on April 6, 2020 with 11 cases total. Since the islands were quick to respond and contain, the nation has decided to reopen tourism in a staged process.
The first 19 countries currently being allowed into the Seychelles for the purposes of tourism are quite the mixed bag.
They vary from countries in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the South Pacific, but they all share something in common; they’re all are considered ‘low risk’ due to low incidences of cases, responsiveness from the countries health system.

Are Flights Allowed Into Seychelles?
Yes, as of June 1st 2020 both private jets and commercial passenger flights are allowed to fly into Seychelles from the approved countries.
Tests, Restrictions and Rules for Entry into the Seychelles”
→ ALL passengers must bring with them a negative PCR test. The government has made it very clear that any traveller without this proof of test will be turned back on the same aircraft.
→ Visitors from the LOW RISK countries can bring a negative PCR test no older than 72 hours from date of travel, but if one is not available, a rapid test is also approved. Visitors from the MEDIUM RISK countries can only bring a negative PCR test no older than 72 hours of date of travel.
→ Arriving passengers will be subject to temperature scans, symptom checks and potentially random swabbings.
→ All negative test result certificates including all flights and accommodation details must be sent to the Public Health Authority on the following email address: – [email protected] . If visitors fail to submit the tests results, flights and accommodation details they will be subjected to a COVID-19 PCR or a Rapid Antigen test upon arrival.
→ Visitors must ensure that accommodation bookings are made only at licensed accommodation establishments or liveaboards that have been certified by the Public Health Authority.
→ Visitors must ensure that they have a valid travel insurance with full medical coverage for the duration of their entire stay in Seychelles.

The Department of Health released a document on May 29th outlining what kinds of activities are reopening during the month of June. They include:
- Gyms and Fitness Centres
- Beaches (no beach parties)
- Marine leisure crafts
- Bars and Restaurants
