As of June 1st the Seychelles have reopened to tourists from 19 countries, with another 17 countries being considered.
The Seychelles officially announced the first two cases of Covid-19 on March 14, 2020 and reached its peak on April 6, 2020 with 11 cases total. Since the islands were quick to respond and contain, the nation has decided to reopen tourism in a staged process.
The first 19 countries currently being allowed into the Seychelles for the purposes of tourism are quite the mixed bag.
They vary from countries in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the South Pacific, but they all share something in common; they’re all are considered ‘low risk’ due to low incidences of cases, responsiveness from the countries health system.
Here are the countries currently allowed to travel to the Seychelles:
- New Zealand
Countries currently under consideration to potentially be added in July:
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- South Korea
It makes a lot of sense for the Seychelles to want to add France, Germany, Italy and South Korea to their approved countries list as soon as possible, as a huge majority of their tourism comes from those 4 countries.
Are Flights Allowed Into Seychelles?
